Project PRIME is a targeted MSP that began in the fall of 2002. Project partners include Rapid City Area Schools, Black Hills State University, TIE (a regional education service agency), and Inverness Research Associates (external evaluator). The bulk of the partnership's effort to date has been concentrated within the Rapid City school district. Goals of the work include improved teaching and learning of K-12 mathematics and reduction of the achievement gap between Native American and non-Native American students. Moving forward, there will also be an increased emphasis on improving the preparation of future teachers.
